SpecificationsAs yet no specification exists for the level of protection Life Shield technologies can provide. Engineered designs of Life Shield® based blast mitigation systems have, in test after test, met the established performance criteria of the GSA and ISO standards at blast loads far in excess of Life Shield materials. Assembled for your review are various certifications from around the world. Please note, certification is not an endorsement. In April, 2010, the United States Interagency Security Council released new protection guidelines, Design Basis Threat Report and Physical Security Criteria for Federal Facilities. These documents finally allow engineering firms to design for real world threats against structures rather than being relegated to the artificial GSA standards written around anti-shatter film and laminated glass. In 2012 the US Army Corp of Engineers will release a new version of SBEDS and two new US Government specifications should be released that will account for the increased blast load capacity found in new technologies. These will provide a framework for engineering firms, building occupants and owners to make informed decisions based on qualified and vetted materials. |
