The Life Shield product portfolio is functionally split between two mitigation methods, hardening and catch systems. LS-425 is a spray applied coating system for wall hardening. There are two prefabricated panel catcher system options for containing the failure of in-fill architectural elements such as walls and windows. The LS-URF series is most commonly used or the LS-RF series for a high fragmentation environment. The LS-RF series incorporates Twaron® para-aramid reinforcement for this purpose. All Life Shield products require integration into the structure or vehicle by knowledgeable and qualified blast engineering firms. These designs of Life Shield based blast mitigation systems have, in test after test, met the established performance criteria of the GSA and ISO. Unlike anti-shatter window film, laminated glass, or sheet steel, Life Shield materials can be used in many different ways allowing engineers to offer levels of protection not previously available with classical materials. This enhanced protection can be achieved with reduced loads to the structure and minimal impact on the aesthetics.
